Bringing order to the chaos sometimes present within a fast-growing software company, led the product marketing and messaging efforts of the organization through multiple product launches, an initial public offering and two corporate acquisitions.  My efforts directly contributed to +30% year-over-year growth to nearly $100M in 3 years and positive press and analyst coverage of products and services.

Created and rolled out a new product positioning strategy which consolidated multiple overlapping products and alleviated customer and channel confusion about the company’s strategy and value proposition to customers.

Turned around the company’s poor external image and haphazard relationships with industry analysts through a high-energy, engaging and more consistent approach to PR outreach, e-marketing and customer/industry presentations.

Amid constrained financial resources and understaffing, oversaw the successful rollout of the company’s first CMS for external customer and channel websites, resulting in a fresh look and feel for the company as well as improved efficiency and the ability to meet business needs more quickly.

Product Manager – Double-Take Software April 2005 – January 2006

Expanded the company’s partnerships by working with the business development team to build the Double-Take Solutions Program, creating joint marketing deliverables and gaining new technology partners such as Microsoft, Quest and VMware.

Dramatically improved the company’s market and competitive visibility by creating and leading the process of researching and documenting competitors’ solutions and enabling the field sales organization by creating field-facing and customer-facing sales collateral.

Developed and coordinated broad-reaching marketing campaigns for Microsoft Small Business Server 2003, leading to over $5M dollars in incremental revenue for FY04 (July 2003 to June 2004).

Senior Technology Specialist – Microsoft Corporation September 2000 – April 2003
As the company strived to create its “enterprise software” identity by building on success in the consumer market, served in the Technology Specialist role at Microsoft within the Midwest District (IN, IL and WI).  Worked to define the Technology Specialist role by working closely with customers’ IT and business management staff to understand their complex business requirements and map those requirements to Microsoft enterprise technology solutions.

Always met revenue and growth goals by coordinating sales campaigns and marketing efforts to grow sales pipelines and then, using solution selling techniques, analyzing those pipelines, qualifying opportunities and closing sales by overcoming customers’ technical objections to the solution.

Provided technical thought leadership for the Midwest District resulting in the top ranking of all worldwide subsidiaries for Windows Server Sales – 124% attainment and double-digit growth.

Generated customer excitement and additional top-line revenue by organizing and delivering large marketing events (1,500+ attendees) such as product launches for Office and Windows.
